Richard is a Certified Financial Planner (CFPcm) with over 15 years of experience. His working career began as a professional cricketer in England before joining the financial services department of a large UK accountancy practice in 1996. Richard moved to New Zealand permanently in 1999 and settled in Nelson where he set up his own financial advisory practice in 2002, Richard Harden Investment Services.
Richard provides investment advice and has particular expertise with UK Pension Transfers. As an expat he is well-suited to the unique needs of new migrants from the UK. Richard helps clients navigate the complex and constantly changing rules and regulations around taxation and investment. His aim is to make the transition to New Zealand as easy as possible.

Richard holds professional financial planning qualifications from the UK and is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA). He is also a member of Institute of Financial Advisers and SIFA.
Good local food and wine is Richard's passion that he shares with his wife Rachel. On his days off you'll likely find him out in Tasman Bay fishing off his kayak. As well as a player, Richard was actively involved in local cricket as a coach to college and representative teams. His son Joel is also a keen cricketer and now attends university.

Meredith Cornelius | Director & Authorised Financial Advisor
Meredith is a Certified Financial Planner (CFPcm) and has been advising clients in New Zealand since 2002. She emigrated from Oregon, USA, returning to Nelson where she lived as a girl during the 1970’s. She is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) and holds degrees in Business Administration (Finance & Economics) and Public Accounting from Oregon State University, and the Massey University Graduate Diploma in Business Studies in Personal Financial Planning Endorsement.
She is active in the promotion of the value of financial advice and serves on the Board of the Institute of Financial Advisers. She has been involved in the promotion of CFPcm in her work with the Financial Planning Standards Board (FSPB), the Denver-based international body overseeing the CFPcm advisers across 26 member countries.
Meredith's advice begins with client objectives – be it to help clients plan and accumulate a retirement fund, use capital to generate an income, invest a financial windfall, or manage a life transition. It all starts with a plan.

Meredith is married to Jim and most weekends see the two exploring NZ’s amazing cycle trails. They have two adult children, Will in New Orleans with wife Ellie, and Maddie who lives in Nelson – and, the world’s spunkiest Jack Russell Terrier, Winnie.

Richard Grimes | Director & Authorised Financial Advisor
Richard is an investment adviser with 10 years experience. Prior to this he was a Chartered Accountant in public practice and private industry. A career highlight was his 8 years as inaugural General Manager of World of Wearable Art & Classic Cars Museum in Nelson. He then joined BNZ Private Bank for 9 years as an investment adviser. He is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (BCA) degree from Victoria University, and the Massey University Graduate Diploma in Business Studies in Personal Financial Planning.
Richard enjoys the relationships he has with clients and providing great service. While his expertise are in the financial planning and investment advice area he is happy to talk about wider estate and tax planning issues as these need to be considered when giving good advice. Richard is a big believer in relationships built on trust, keeping things simple, and providing help and advice that the client wants. He works with other professionals and experts when required.

Sarah’s strengths are in organisation and making things happen – she has worked at executive level for over 20 years and started out in Advertising and Marketing as a PA/Office Manager quickly working her way up to Senior Account Manager with her own portfolio of Clients including Reed Travel Exhibitions - the world’s leading travel and tourism events organiser with a growing portfolio of more than 22 international travel and tourism trade events in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
During her career she has worked for the Ministry of Defence, the University of Surrey, an award winning Customer Engagement agency, an Infrastructure & Business Services Company and the leading UK Customer Experience Consultancy. She has gained experience in a wide variety of sectors managing the logistics of various marketing / advertising / brand strategies – most recently coordinating the implementation of a diagnostic systems upgrade for Volkswagen Group UK at over 720 sites and the roll out of the ground breaking new Audi Direct Reception system ‘customer experience’ before migrating to New Zealand in 2009.
Here at Totara Wealth Sarah is involved in the day to day running of the business including compliance/AML-CFT, managing the office and generally making sure that everything is running smoothly.
Sarah is a keen but fair-weather cyclist who enjoys trying to better her ride time in to work. In her own time she and her husband Matt can be found hunting down new craft beers in the pursuit of hoppiness or enjoying the best outdoor experiences that the region has to offer.

Linda supports the business in an administration role. Super friendly, calm under pressure and always helpful you can be sure she will will give you the warmest of welcomes whether you visit us in person or you get in touch by phone or email.
She recently moved to Nelson after living in Onahau Bay, Queen Charlotte Sound, where she ran a property maintenance, construction and barging company with her husband. Along with looking after the administration side of the business Linda also worked managing NZQA exams and for a marine farm.
Previously Linda has held office positions at an insurance company in Melbourne, a Christchurch law firm and a Picton real estate office.
She is enjoying living a city life and being close enough to take advantage of all that Nelson has to offer. In her spare time Linda enjoys walking and is a member of a local Tramping Club. Linda also loves exotic overseas travel and is currently planning her next adventure to Africa.
